Dall’Igna: Martin “deserves” factory Ducati MotoGP team promotion
In the 2023 season, Martin battled against Bagnaia for the championship on his Pramac Ducati, but unfortunately fell short by 39 points due to a crash in the Valencia Grand Prix. If Martin had won the title, he would have automatically been promoted to the factory team, but he will stay with Pramac instead. Martin expressed that he believes he has proven himself to Ducati, but the team’s sporting director, Dall’Igna, agrees that there are contractual obligations that prevent changes. Ducati’s sporting director, Tardozzi, acknowledges that Martin deserves a factory bike, but believes it’s fair that Bastianini, who suffered injuries in the season, is given another opportunity instead. Bastianini’s injuries affected his adaptation to the new Ducati model, but he showed improvement towards the end of the season in Malaysia.
